sure to be something for everyone.

Highlights include Carmen’s famous Seguidilla, Valentine’s aria from Faust with its moving and familiar melody, the delightful Pa pa pa duet from The Magic Flute, La donna e mobile from Rigoletto, the famous Humming Chorus from Madam Butterfly, Poor Wand’ring One from The Pirates of Penzance

This will be an evening full of the glorious tunes for which opera is famous,

Eugene Onegin

by Tchaikovsky

26 - 29 February 2020 at 7.45pm

The Wilde Theatre
South Hill Park
RG12 7PA

  Director   Sallie Ward
Music Director   Brian Henry

Our next fully staged opera is Tchaikovsky’s heartbreakingly beautiful masterpiece. Tatyana’s quiet existence is turned upside down with the arrival of the handsome and charismatic Onegin. He arrogantly rejects her romantic fantasies, but years later they are reunited for one final, explosive encounter.

Tchaikovsky’s soaring score is the most radiant of Russian lyric operas. Passionate and expressive, it captures perfectly the youthful despair and longing of Pushkin’s masterpiece.

Fully staged and sung in English with orchestra.
